Ann Wolff takes a glance behind the facade

Ann Wolff is seen as one of the most important and interesting representatives of the European Studio Glass Movement.

The German-Swedish artist has been represented at the Galerie B for 20 years. “Glass as a material is actually invisible. As an artist, this gives you the opportunity to create space you can look into. Within this space, something that is not really there, can materialize. This feature is unique for glass, and I am fascinated by that”, Ann Wolff explains. Glass plays a major role in most of her sculptures, yet she uses other materials such as bronze, concrete, stone and aluminum as well. The psychology behind the facade is a theme that keeps recurring in her works. What lies behind the mask? Ann Wolff has been asking this for years. With their complexity, their colors, volume and exciting shapes, her sculptures, figures and faces invite you to meditatively observe them. The Alexander Tutsek foundation in Munich is dedicating a grand single exhibition to the artist, titled “Ann Wolff PERSONA“ from 17th October 2014 to 12th June 2015.
